Conflicts, Cooperation, and Change
July 2024,
Hi Everyone,
Imagine you are a small business called Britain and you have the biggest customer in the world called Europe and you are an important member of your customer's board of directors. How can it be that you freely decide to end your lucky break? The reasons I read about seemed weak to me. Perhaps some desire occurred from somewhere and reasons were an afterthought.
World War 1 was horrible to all the players and resulted in World War 2, which was even worse. Historians list the causes of these disasters, and other disasters, but the causes of very bad outcomes make no sense to me.
When I do something super dumb, afterwards the reasons seem crazy. It seems more like I was seeking super dumbness for itself alone.
Why are we in the fix that we are in? Our time on Earth may be pretty rough, but humans before us never lived so long and so well. Why are we so divided with each other in the time of our greatest prosperity? People are divided. Countries are divided within and with other countries for less reason than ever.
It seems like the problems we face require cooperation and we are cooperating very little.
What is driving us toward disaster? Why do we seek to harm ourselves? Are we innocent? Did our tiny portion of the Universe that tired of dinosaurs long ago become tired of us?
Is it possible for us to rebel against our demise? I am just one meaningless human rebelling by trying to get along with everyone and being helpful. I am almost nothing, but if a lot of us rebelled against our demise by cooperating more, maybe we could alter a really bad situation into something better. Maybe if we try to do better we will get a lucky break. Maybe we can alter the desire of whatever is driving us to disaster?
