Flame retardant tape construction made from a tough polyurethane elastomer that resists puncture, tearing, and abrasion. Total thickness 0.008 in (0.20 mm). Rugged 8mil flame retardant polyurethane protective tape with an aggressive adhesive. 3M Polyurethane Protective Tape 8658DL is supplied with a top polyester liner used as an aide for aircraft interior seam sealing applications. Uniquely formulated to pass the burn resistance requirements of FAR 25.853 as a seam sealing tape. Applied over the seams between aircraft floor panels, these products establish an excellent barrier to fluids and help prevent liquids from causing corrosion. Applications include seaaircraft interiors, cargo compartments, and as a fluid/corrosion barrier on aircraft flooring. Meets FAR 25.853 for aircraft interiors. Very tough thermoplastic polyurethane. Abrasion, erosion, scratch, puncture, and impact resistant. Conformable to most surfaces. Provides excellent surface protection using a technology that contains no VOCs and is fast and easy to apply.
